What’s in a name? Tips from a bluebird.
I’ve been helping companies of all sizes across all industries through branding efforts for my entire career. I LOVE the process of starting from scratch with a brand or completely re-envisioning an existing brand. Colors, images, messages…GAH! The options are endless!
When it came time to create my own brand as I formalized my three+ years as an independent consultant, I had zero doubts about which direction I would take. When you know, you know. Bluebirds. Bluebirds Marketing. Obviously! I’ve received a lot of questions about why a bird? Why a bluebird? “Oh my gosh, I’d love to tell you.” That’s my response, every time. I want everyone to have that kind of enthusiasm about their brand. Isn’t that the goal? Love your brand so much you want to sing its praises to everyone?
So, why Bluebirds Marketing…
Bluebirds are known as the harbingers of spring. Like our namesake, Bluebirds Marketing takes pride in leading efforts through cutting-edge strategies. We love trying new things.
Bluebirds are fiercely loyal to their families. Relationships matter to us, and trust and partnership take priority.
Bluebirds have the ability to see further than other birds. Sometimes you have to look out to see where you want to go to determine the best path to get there. We always keep the end goal in mind.
It’s more than this symbolism, though. Bluebirds have personal meaning to me. It all started with my Mom's fondness for bluebirds. She had a ‘bluebird of happiness’ perched on her mantle for as long as I can remember. Since her passing nearly nine years ago, bluebirds find me everywhere I go. Every. Where. I go. I see bluebirds in a frequency that’s unbelievable. All year round. I actually stopped telling people how often I see them, since it started to make me sound a little crazy. These little birds hold a special place in my heart, and now my profession.
Isn’t that the great thing about a brand? It’s meaning can reach as far and wide as what works for you. And when you know, you know. And if you aren’t getting the warm and fuzzies, you probably aren’t there yet. Keep concepting and drafting.
